The
Abyss - A Dream in My Childhood
One night
when I was about four or five years old, I had a strange and terrifying
dream. In darkness, many people, including myself, were crawling on the
ground. There were so many adults and children that it was boundless. It
seemed there was a great sucking power ahead of us pulling us forward. I
was very scared and I did not know where I was going. As I was crawling
and crawling, I saw ahead of me a very large pit. Pretty soon I arrived at
the edge of the pit. One more step and I would have fallen into it. I
gripped the edge of it with all my might. Oh, it was so scary! No bottom!
Abyss! Flames! I woke up in great anxiety. What is more amazing is that I
had exactly the same dream again a few nights later. Even today, it is as
clear as if it had just happened. This
dream was not a coincidence. After I came to know Jesus, I understood. If
it had not been for Jesus Christ who sacrificed himself, bled, and died on
the cross to save me, or if I were not willing to accept His salvation
even to the point of death, then that Abyss would be a home for me to
return to when I die. It would also be a home for everyone else that did
not believe in Jesus. "For God so loved the world, that He gave His only Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life." (John 3:16)
