5. One Finger is Too Much Since
Mrs. Chu was in Mainland China, I lived by myself in her perfectly
renovated light blue bedroom and pink bathroom.
It was so wonderful and comfortable.
When I visited my half brother and his wife, who are the son and
daughter-in-law of the first wife of my father, I encouraged them to trust
in the Lord and love him. I
saw how simple their home was and boasted about what a wonderful place the
Heavenly Father had prepared for me.
They admired me so much that they even wished I could find a better
house for them. It is well known that Hong Kong has been such a busy city and
scarce of housing. People
always said: “Come to eat, but not to stay.”
In fact, how could I have the ability to find housing for them?
It was all because the Heavenly Father moved those people whom I
had never met before to receive me, that I could enjoy such kindness
without effort. However, one has to be fearful with trembling in grace. One day, when I was resting and enjoying my room, I saw that there was a shining raised bronze pellet on the doorknob of the bathroom. I stretched out a finger and pressed that bronze pellet. I heard a sound of “ga da,” then the bathroom door was locked and could not be opened. I was so anxious that I asked the son-in-law of Mrs. Chu whether they had the key to the bathroom. They replied: “No.” All of the keys were put away by their mother, and they did not know where she put them. It was all because one finger was too many that I could not use my personal bathroom anymore. From then on I had to use the bathroom shared among the rest of the house members. How inconvenient it was! I regretted that one touch of a finger caused such a mistake. I taught me that every act and deed should be conducted in the name of the Lord in grace. Even one finger is too many. |
