2. Move To Another Place
A sister from the women’s fellowship was very zealous in finding
lodging for me. She
recommended me to a couple who loved the Lord and lived close by.
This couple was willing to accommodate me in the living room of one
of their rented houses. This
house was in their garden and was occupied by many tenants.
They offered the living room to the Lord and a prayer meeting was
held there every Saturday. The
host bought a screen for me since the tenants would pass through the
living room when they came in or went out.
At night I put a few chairs together as a bed.
I was so grateful that I could use the big dining table in the
middle of the night to read the Bible and watch and pray.
Sometimes I would read the Bible and pray with the believers who
visited me.
The hostess of this house turned to Jesus when she was seriously
ill. Even then she rested in
bed all the time. Although
she was only in her middle years she was weak.
Once when I went over to her house, she was talking on the phone
with someone and asked, “What
vision did you see? Tell me,
so that I can do as you did.” Some
preferred to seek miraculous signs and the so-called “pouring of the
Holy Spirit” in their meetings. Some
teachings swerved from the truth. I
was so anxious that I frankly admonished her.
“Only one thing is needed. That
is what the Lord said in Luke 10. Imitate
Mary by sitting quietly at the Lord’s feet, listening carefully to the
Lord’s word, and understanding the Lord’s heart so that one can do a
beautiful thing. Do not seek visions or hearing something.
Beware, many will come to deceive before the Lord comes.
Pay attention to the truth in the Bible by faith.
Seek for the love of the Cross, walk in truth and love, and the
Lord will bless with you.” But who has believed this message? More and more I have felt the importance of following the Lord’s Word without addition or subtraction. As it is written in Deuteronomy 4, “Hear now, O Israel, the decrees and laws I am about to teach you. Follow them so that you may live and may go in and take possession of the land that the Lord, the God of your fathers, is giving you. Do not add to what I command you and do not subtract from it, but keep the commands of the Lord your God that I give you. You saw with your own eyes what the Lord did at Baal Peor. The Lord your God destroyed from among you everyone who followed the Baal of Peor.” (v.1-3). “Meditate and ponder on the Lord’s Word, and remember it well. Do not be turned away from the truth.” (Deuteronomy 13). |
