Brief Introduction of Home of Grace for Christ’s Workers
I. ORIGIN:
During the recuperation of John Song, the servant of God in Mount Fragrance, Beijing, he was inspired by the Holy Spirit and prayer to designate six Cities of Refuge and forty-two Levitical towns (Joshua 20 and 21). The six Cities are the six “Home of Grace” mainly for workers’ retreat and edification in the Desert of Arabia. The forty-two Antioch serve to gather the workers and be the starting point from whom the Holy Spirit will send to various places for gospel preaching.
God is the Alpha and the Omega, the beginning and the end. Before the Lord’s servant passed away, he established the first “Home of Grace”. After his death, two more “Home of Grace” were established successively in China despite all sorts of trouble and hardship. In 1995, ‘Home of Grace for Christ’s Workers’ in New Orleans was set up and ratified as a non-profit religious organization by the State of Louisiana, USA. By the gracious help of God, Warsaw, Poland in eastern Europe and London, United Kingdom in western Europe were also developed in succession. This was done to facilitate the workers from different regions to retreat and be edified, so they might renew their strength to fight a good fight again for the Lord.
During these recent years, under the successive work of the Holy Spirit, Antioch in Spain, Italy, the Philippines and South Africa were established to ensure that every believer will take part actively in the Great Commission.
II. BELIEF:
We firmly believe in the Almighty God, the Creator of heaven and earth, the only Sovereign and Lord, the everlasting true God. We believe in the Holy Spirit. We believe in Jesus Christ, the only begotten son of God, the Word made flesh and born of virgin Mary. He laid down His life and shed His blood for the sins of all mankind. He was crucified on the cross as a sin offering. We believe in the truth of His resurrection, ascension into heaven, His second coming, His Kingdom and judgment. We are fully convinced that all the unfulfilled prophecy in the Bible will be fulfilled in due time. We believe that all Scripture is God-breathed. Heaven and earth and everything will disappear, not the smallest letter, not the stroke of a pen, will by any means disappear from God’s words. Therefore, the entire Holy Bible is the only guideline to all our actions.
III. PURPOSES:
(1) For the retreat of all God’s workers.
(2) For the edification of those who are newly called by God.
(3) To provide a retreat for those who need short-term devotion to come for Bible study and prayer.
(4) To promote the world-wide spread of the gospel. All the co-workers of “Home of Grace” and those who come for retreat or training may be sent out by the Holy Spirit to preach the gospel worldwide. In addition, we accept invitation from churches to assist in various missionary work.
IV. FINANCE:
In “Home of Grace”, every individual, the whole household, or those who are sent out by the Holy Spirit should live a life of faith by putting their hope only in God and never depend on man, never raise funds, and never borrow. Nevertheless, we always care with love for each other’s needs as a family.
V. MAIN CURRICULUM:
(1) Bible comparison: Every morning, we have Bible study by the comparative method. (Please refer to the Introduction of Comparative Method of Bible Study in our web site.)
(2) Bible study by the scroll: Every day the learners shall practice self-study by the scroll in order to let them learn the entire Scripture systematically. “Home of Grace” will schedule courses regularly so they may eat up the scroll to be able to correctly handle the word of truth and be God’s workmen who do not need to be ashamed.
(3) Intercede watchfully: “Home of Grace” has an “Intercession Room” where we take turns to pray day and night for the churches and the souls of the world. In addition, everyone in “Home of Grace” will join together in prayer twice a day. The work in the future is the work of prayer. Through our prayers, we will see the Holy Spirit works endlessly, boundlessly, and measurelessly all over the world. As long as we call on God unceasingly, the work of the Holy Spirit will be unceasing. Where there is prayer, there is the work of the living water of the Holy Spirit.
(4) Practice of preaching: Every week the learners will have a fix time to practice sermon giving and preaching by using Comparative Bible Study.
