With Gratitude To God's Grace

12. Do Not Slack in Praying

When I came out of the jail and lived with my mother in the attic of Mrs. Ju, my life was complacent. Therefore, gradually I was not so willing to get up in the middle of the night to pray watchfully and earnestly as I had been in affliction. Sometimes I almost could not get up but stayed in bed. I thought nothing was wrong, and I wanted to just sleep a little more… But one night the Holy Spirit used God's word to warn me: "evil men and impostors will go from bad to worse…" (2 Timothy 3:13). The last four words were especially amplified to me. Immediately I understood that if I became slackened in praying, disasters would come. Evil men and impostors have not stopped persecuting God's children, and they will “go from bad to worse.”  Therefore, watch and pray by grace, and do not stop until the Lord comes!
