Psalm 8/ Revelation 10:8

Thirst For The Word Of God, And See His Glory
Psalm 8/ Revelation 10:8

In Rev. 10:8 we read that the voice from heaven spoke once more, “Go, take the scroll…” Scroll stands for the Holy Bible. This Holy Bible is the most important thing to every child of God. In Luke 10:41, Jesus told Martha, “Martha, Martha, you are worried and upset about many things, but only one thing is needed, Mary has chosen what is better and it will not be taken away from her.” When Martha was busy for many thins, Mary put this one thing as the first thing—sitting at the Lord’s feet and listening to what He said.

Psalm 8, V. 1 O how majestic is Lord’s name! Rev. 19:13 told us, “…His name is the Word of God.” No matter where you are, if you believe in the word of God sincerely, you will see God’s glory. How majestic and how wonderful it is!

V. 2 Why do the lips of children and infants have strength and powers? Matthew 18:2-4, “Unless you change and become like little children, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven. Therefore whoever humbles himself like this child is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven.” What does infants mean? 1 Peter 3:1-2, “Therefore, rid yourselves of all malice, hypocrisy, envy, like new born babies, thirst for pure spiritual milk, by it you may grow up in your salvation.”

Daniel had a child-liked humility and thirst for God’s words. He loved God above all things, he trusted and kept God’s words. He would rather sacrifice his life in the lion’s den than stopped praying to God. Then, wonderful thing happened! All the mouths of lions were shut. God put his enemies to silence.

Abraham was also like a child and infant before God. When God called him to leave his homeland and to go to a place where he didn’t know. He obeyed and went. When God tested him to offer Isaac as a sacrifice. He trusted and obeyed. He offered his beloved only son to God. Then, he got the great blessing. God rewards those who earnestly seek Him and obey His commands.

V. 3 God made heavens, moon, stars…all things for His children. But who is the one that God will care for? In Isaiah 66:2, “This is the one I esteem, he who is humble and trembles at my word.” Such one is the one God will crown with glory and honor. Have you ever noticed the example of Joseph? He went through water and fire, but he depended on the Lord. By the help of God, he overcame all temptations and hardships. In keeping the word of God, there is great reward. Joseph got it.

V. 6 Everything is in the hands of our almighty God. If we thirst for His words and keep His words faithfuly, he must love us and bless us. He will make us rulers over the works of His hands, and put everything under our feet.

V. 7 We know that in all things, God works for the good of those who love Him. (Romans 8:28) “Whoever has Lord’s commands and obeys them, he is the one who loves Him.” (John 14:21)

Abraham obeyed God’s commands to the end. He offered his only son to God. When he took the knife to kill his son, he heard the voice from heaven to stop him. Then, there was a ram prepared to be a burnt offering instead of his son. So Abraham called that place the Lord will provide.

V. 8 When Elijah obeyed God’s command to hide in the east of the Jordan, God used ravens to bring him bread and meat in the morning and in the evening. Peter obeyed Jesus to fish, he got one dollar from the mouth of the fish to pay the taxes for Jesus and himself.

God put everything under His beloved children. O how majestic is Lord’s name in all the earth. Many God’s children neglect the most important thing, that is to sit at the Lord’s feet and to listen to Him with a humble and thirsty heart. Therefore, what they hear is the voice of the devil, the voice of human or the voice of their own. They fall into darkness because of that. They become worrisome and painful. Let us turn to listen to our Heavenly Father, we will see how majestic His word is in all the earth!

Let us walk on the path of the righteous, our future will shine ever brighter and brighter! (Proverbs 4:18)
