Genesis 28/ Isaiah 47

1. Refine and be blessed

He who is elected by God must go through refinement. When he experienced darkness in the desert, he saw a stairway reaching to heaven that God revealed Himself. As a result, he was refined and he honored His way. He received the promised blessings.

2. The evil and wicked are destroyed

God will revenge and spare any one who is overweening, arrogant, shows no mercy and indulge in sorceries. Loss of children and widowhood will overtake them on a single day.

Psalm 28 / Revelation 11: 17                   Cry for / God’s strength

There is malice all around. The wicked speaks cordially but harbors malice in his heart. God will help those who cry and call, and trust in Him. They will rejoice and be thankful. The Almighty God will deliver me and my people.

He who worships the idols will be captivated. Listen to the word of the Lord and you will have life and blessings.

Genesis 27/ Isaiah 46

1. Neither godly nor righteous

Those who do not fear God nor seek His will act as their heart delight and do as they please. They play tricks to gain blessings and great disasters resulted. God will strike them for their ungodliness and wickedness.

2. Idols and captivity

The idols that are carried about are burdensome. Those who carry them are unable to rescue the burden, they themselves go off into captivity. God’s children should listen to the word of God – Seek righteousness, gain life and receive blessings.

Psalm 27 / Revelation 11: 16                   Seek / God’s glory

All the days of my life I will seek the face of the Lord. Worship before the Lord to understand the way of the Lord. Though an army besieges me, I will not fear. Whoever is confident and waits for God will see His glory.

Let us not fear or quarrel. Those who seek God unceasingly will lead all nations to receive kindness.

Let us lead a blameless life and proclaim His word to respond to His kindness for He will reign for ever and ever.

Genesis 26/ Isaiah 45

1.  Do not fear or quarrel

Let us listen to the instructions of the Lord and do not quarrel or fear. Do not turn to falsehood but plant and dig the well diligently, wholeheartedly and perseveringly. God will bless us tremendously and make our enemies a footstool for our feet.

2.  Seek and turn to

Let us not quarrel with God or with man, but seek and turn to the only true God. God will raise up Cyrus to rebuild the temple. The gospel will be widely proclaimed and all nations will be blessed.

Psalm 26 / Revelation 11: 15                   Exalt God / Be perfect

The Lord will reign for ever and ever. Let us therefore lead a blameless life, shun evil and desire good. Walk in the truth, trust in God and you will be established. Stand firm in His way and God will vindicate you. Let us proclaim His grace and respond to His kindness.

1.  Blessed is he who listens quietly

Those who are born by the flesh are worthless. Let us not busy ourselves with the worldly things or pursue worldly blessing. Do not turn to the false path and deceive yourselves or others. Listen quietly to the Holy word and you will be restored to glorify God.

2.  Man’s craft is worthless

He who casts idols by labor and his own wisdom is ignorant and worthless. Return to God and listen quietly to the Lord’s word so that you may be filled with the Spirit of God. And all nations will be blessed.

Psalm 25 / Revelation 11: 14                   Unfailing love / Calamity

He who fears God seeks for the word of the Lord. He confesses his sins, honors His way and lifts up to put hope in Him. For all the ways of God are loving and faithful. 1. Grace follows the faithful servant

The faithful servant prayed and waited, and he did not use his own effort. As soon as he saw God’s glory, he bowed down and worshiped Him. Let us work diligently and postpone no more–lead people to God to satisfy the Lord’s heart.

2. God does new things

When you pass through the waters and the fire, God is with you. Fear not, for God will do new things and the elect will be restored. Who can reverse it? Let us lead people to the Lord to witness God’s glory.

Psalm 24 / Revelation 11: 13                   The quake / Ascend the hill

The earth will quake and the city will collapse. Therefore let us turn not to falsehood but ascend the Holy hill and seek the Lord’s face. Be pure in hard and hand to live with God. Be alert to do good and lead  people to prepare for the Lord.

1. Plea according to God’s mind and Pay the full price

After mourning, Abraham rose to plea for a piece of land. By faith he bought the piece of land in the promised land. He would not take at no price and be greedy. Instead he listened carefully and plea what pleased God. So he paid for the full price and deeded the land as his property.

2. Listen attentively and obey His way

He who listens attentively, watchfully makes his plea and honor the Holy word will deeply understand the heart of God and be filled with His love. God will display great power and open a new way before him. But if we dishonor the truth, God’s rage will be on him.

Psalm 23 / Revelation 11: 12                   The Lord’s voice / overflow

Our life will rise if we constantly listen to the Lord’s voice and walk in the path of righteousness, honor the Lord and shun evil. Even though we walk through the shadow of death, we are comforted in the end. Always dwell in the Lord and our cup of blessing will overflow.

1. Blessed is he who stands the test

God tests the elect to see whether they love Him more than anything. He who offers the most beloved to God will surely be blessed: All nations will be blessed and all things work for the good of him.

2. God helps he who obeys

God stirs up one person and all nations tremble. God will help him who obeys His word by trusting in Him. Therefore, fear not, for you will become a sharp instrument of God. All who worships the false gods are utterly worthless.

Psalm 22 / Revelation 11:11                    Listen / Stand on one’s feet

Do not think that everything is gone. Cry out by day and night, God will listen. Bear willingly the suffering of the cross, because God will make me stand on my feet in time.

Genesis 21 / Isaiah 40

Let us consecrate ourselves and wait because the word of the Lord will be fulfilled. But man’s effort is worthless.

The worldly happiness will turn to bitterness. Eternal blessing and true happiness will come if you trust in the Lord.

1. God’s word stands

Those who have been refined completely away with the dross should wait for God patiently, because God’s promise will be accomplished when time comes. The word of the Lord stands forever and you will be filled with laughter. But the flesh and man’s effort are all in vain.

2. The flowers and the grass wither

The hard service has been completed, for the sin of God’s children has been paid for. God will comfort His people. God’s word stands forever but the flowers and the grass wither. Those who hope in God will renew their strength.

Psalm 21 / Revelation 11: 10                   True happiness / worldly happiness

Uphold the word of the Lord and deny yourselves to spread the word. Do not fear that the world gloats over your sufferings. Worldly happiness will turn bitter but if you put hope on God’s word, He will grant you eternal blessings and true happiness.

1.  Be taken captive for cowardice

As he looked at the environment, Abraham was so scared that he lied. He did not trust in God wholeheartedly until his wife was taken captive. As soon as God rebuked, the enemy had to pay reparation. Let us trust in God for He is Almighty.

2.  Be taken captive for showing off

How could we delight at the gift of the enemy? Therefore, whatever king Hezekiah showed off, all were taken away by the enemy. Upon hearing the warning, he did not repent. He did not trust in God and cared only for himself.

Psalm 20 / Revelation 11: 9                     Salvation / Humiliation

It seems a great humiliation for those who suffer persecution for the word. But in time God’s salvation will triumph. We will rise and be saved. God will grant all our prayers.

Genesis 19 / Isaiah 38

Let us flee quickly from sins and press on toward the goal and eagerly respond to God’s kindness.

Genesis 19/ Isaiah 38

1.  Love the world and seek momentary ease

Lot hesitated to leave and coveted the world which ended up in disasters. He escaped death narrowly and received favor from God. We should listen to God’s word and press on toward the goal. How can we seek momentary ease and bear bad fruit?

2.  Receiving goodness in vain

When king Hezekiah was sick to the point of death, God added years to his life. The sunlight went backward and God shouldered his weakness. He ought to have responded to God’s kindness in gratitude, love God and save others. How could he be selfish?

Psalm 19 / Revelation 11: 8                     Keep the word / Die with the Lord

He who dies to the Lord’s death will be freed from the bondage of sins.  He who watchfully keeps God’s word will receive great reward.  It is by grace that one’s heart, mouth and deeds become blameless.  Therefore preach His salvation widely and all nations will receive His favor.
