Key Verses Genesis 29:20 / Isaiah 48:10

Genesis 29 / Isaiah 48

1.  Rebel and suffer

God’s children do not listen to the word of the Lord. They neither seek God nor pray to Him for help. They lean on their own understanding and do as they please. Therefore, they will be rebuked and flogged for their rebellion and stubbornness.

2.   Listen to His command and Obey His will

God’s children take oaths in the name of God, but not in truth or in righteousness. They are treacherous and rebellious, so they need to be refined in affliction. When they obey the commands of the Lord, they will have peace and flourish and receive blessings from Him.

Psalm 29 / Revelation 11: 18                         Self purification / Reward or punishment

The time for reward and punishment is the time when the flood comes. We have sufferings in the world but we have peace in the Lord. Trust in the Lord and He will strengthen us to hold on to the truth. God’s glory is revealed and all goes to God.
