Stop Seeking Vanity, Obey God’s Commands And Leave Everything To Follow Jesus
2 Samuel 2/ Mark 10

2 Samuel 2 told us how David began his ruling over the Israel. He faithfully obeyed God’s commands to the end to love his enemy; and humbly followed God’s will step by step. In Mark 10 Jesus told the disciples how to enter His Kingdom. It is to be as pure and obedient as the little children, to leave everything to follow Jesus, and to be servant of all. (more…)

Do Not Follow The World, But Fully Listen To God’s Word
1 Samuel 8/ Matthew 13

The main idea of these two chapters is as followed: He who listens to the Lord completely will shine greatly. But those who follow the way of the world to set a king over them will weep bitterly. (more…)

Never lose hope; pray in faith; God is almighty
1 Samuel 4/ Matthew 9
1 Samuel 4:

The children of God went out to fight against the Philistines, they were defeated. They asked “Why”, and they came to a solution by themselves to bring the Ark of the Lord’s convenant from Shiloh. They thought, if the Ark went with them, they would win. But they lost the war completely. The Ark of God was captured by the enemy, both of Eli’s sons, two priests, died. Israel lost thirty thousand soldiers. Why did they lose the battlefield again? Because they had no presence of God, but a religious appearance. (more…)

Obedience and Victory: overcome temptations by keeping God’s words firmly
Ruth 3/ Matthew 4
Ruth chapter 3 tells us how Ruth entered “rest”. It was because she obeyed exactly what Naomi had told her to the very end. Matthew chapter 4 shows us how our Lord Jesus “overcame” temptations of the devil. It was by keeping God’s words exactly as the Bible said that Jesus defeated the devil three times in the desert. Today God is still looking for a person who will keep His words exactly as He says to the end. God wants to work with this kind of person to fulfill the Great Commission. (more…)

Humble and diligent VS. Rebuke bravely
Ruth 2/ Matthew 3
Ruth 2/1-7: She worked humbly and diligently that God gave her a “special chance”.

Here we see how humble and diligent Ruth was after she came to the land of Judah with her mother-in-law. She was not lazy at all. She was willing to go out and work to support their living. She was humble that she would do little work as picking up the leftover grain. She would work behind people so that they would have a chance before her. But first of all Ruth asked permission of her mother-in-law to go out to work. (more…)

Do Everything By God’s Instructions, Not By Man’s Idea
Joshua 22/Zephaniah 1

These two chapters present a contrast between the idea of man and the will of God. In Joshua chapter 22, we see the two and one-half tribes built a very large altar of A Witness before they returned to the east of Jordan River. This is work of man’s idea. In Zephaniah chapter 1, we see prophet Zephaniah discerned in the spirit and preached God’s warning and judgment about hidden sins in the hearts of His people in a time of revival. This is a work of God’s will. Therefore, God’s children must be careful to do everything according to God’s instructions and not by man’s idea. (more…)

V. 1-5 Enticement of false prophets and their miracles and signs.

I would like to share a testimony about this subject with you. I know a sister who loves the Lord. Her last name is Ting. She came to Home of Grace for Christ’s Workers and became one of the co-workers. When she was at her hometown, she usually prayed with an older sister, Mrs. Hsieh. This sister was a widow. (more…)
